Sleeping with a Fan Turns on Not So Bad, but ...
When the night feels hot, you might sleep while turning on the fan. So, is there a danger of sleeping with a fan on?
Experts say, in fact sleeping with a lighted fan is not so bad.
"There is no problem about sleeping with the fan on," said the pulmonologist, a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract, Len Horovitz, from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, United States.
Sleep is very important and you certainly do not want to sweat all night, Horovitz said, quoted from Live Science on Monday (07/30/2018).
However, the fan movements that you need to pay attention to. A fan can cause rapid air movement. Impact that occurs can evaporate moisture from the mouth and nasal passages. That is, the air coming out of the fan can make the mouth and nose area dry.
Fans can also spread dust, which can interfere with someone's comfort, especially if the person has an allergy. There is a safe way for you to sleep well with a fan.
"If you sleep with the fan on, keep the fan safe from the bed. What's important is not to direct the fan right to your body," Horovitz added.
The trick is to keep the spread of dust and other allergens to you.
There are also other things that need attention. Sleeping with the fan on makes the air in the room cool.
This can cause muscle contraction. Exposure to cold air at night results in stiff neck in the morning.
If you sleep with air conditioning at night, Horovitz suggests, air conditioning does not blow directly on you. Setting the AC temperature should not be lower than 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius).
